We’ve all been stuck writing a case study long after a project wrapped. Who came up with the idea that kicked off the project? What was the impact? Did we ever measure the results of all of that hard work?

In this free talk, Mara will share how she conceives an ideal end narrative for a project and uses that to devise a work-back plan. She’ll arm you with a template of questions to ask yourself—at project kickoff, throughout the project, and as the project wraps—to set yourself (and your team) up for success.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Plan a narrative for your case study before the project begins
  • Use that plan to ask the right clarifying questions (of yourself and your cross-functional team) at project kickoff to set yourself up for success
  • Write a compelling case study that will (a) help elevate and clarify the impact of content design at your organization (b) set content design leadership up for success in advocating for additional headcount and (c) help you create a killer piece of content for your portfolio

Mara is speaking in a personal capacity. The views represented in her talk do not necessarily represent the view of her employer.

Mara Lantz leads content design for Pinterest’s monetization sector: all of the surfaces that advertisers and agencies use to plan, publish, measure and iterate on their ad campaigns. Reporting to the Senior Director, Monetization Product Design, she gets to work on a mix of high-priority horizontal initiatives and also contributes design strategy to some of our more ambitious 0-1 initiatives. When she’s not helping Pinterest secure the bag, you can find her hiking the Marin trails, playing with her two young kids, or watching some truly trashy reality tv.
