Finding, building, and nurturing your community of practice with the resources you have
Communities of practice help us connect with folks who value content, experience, and meaning. Ideally, we’d all have access to this. But where do you find those people in your workplace? What if you’re a freelancer or solo practitioner, or you don’t have a workplace right now?
It’s possible (and important) to maintain community through the good, bad, and everything in between. Panelists will draw from their experiences running communities and events, and share practical strategies for building belonging while democratizing opportunities and responsibilities. They’ll discuss methods to support members and organizers — with or without dedicated staff, time, or budget.
You’ll leave this session knowing:
- Ways to find and bring together your people — at any level, in any role, in any type of work setting
- How communities of practice can flourish, with or without budget, structure, and dedicated resources
- Different setups, formats, and structures for managing communities and their rituals and norms
- Strategies for taking care of a community and yourself, without getting burnt out
